I was struck recently, dear Member, on returning to Ibiza from running the Barefoot SuperRetreat in deepest Andalucia, where the air was naturally fragranced, the stars sparkled in the night sky, the venue in the hills provided the perfect venue for helping people discover and

Every now and then you have to stop. Some fortunate souls are born good at stopping. But if you’re like me and are naturally drawn to getting involved in a plethora of creative projects, each hungrily taking on a life of their own until you inevitably, occasionally find yourself being pulled one way, tugged another, yanked another and jerked another until you wonder if you might not be utterly split asunder by the dancing force of the very creations you gave birth to, a little like a mother with many kids all demanding her attention at the same time, hence are never quite sure where you’d possibly be able to cut into the process to apply the breaks without causing a dreadfully messy pile-up behind you, so instead just keep on keeping on as the only viable expedient you can think of, keeping on and on a little like this confoundedly entrancing sentence, then it’s time to pull off the autobahn at the next services, stop the car, get out, stretch your legs and upper body and have a nice, slow cup of something to sooth your nerves.
And while it’s true a stiff cup of chamomile or two can do wonders for jangled nerves, I’m actually meaning it metaphorically and was intending it as a trigger device for a stress-busting visualization.
So follow me, as we slow down and pull off into the slip road here, park the car in the pleasant leafy car-park, walk inside the pleasantly appointed services, order a cup of something pleasant, sit down in a comfortable booth and allow the stress of the road to evaporate a bit – evaporating more with every exhalation – until you feel quite good and settled and your vision starts clearing so you’re no longer just seeing white lines rushing up towards you, other cars speeding along, blue signposts and bridges rushing by overhead.
In fact as you start remembering again to fill your lungs up with air a bit more with each inhalation and to allow the energy, love and consciousness contained in that air to feed you more efficiently, it occurs to you that the road isn’t everything, that sometimes just stopping and being here is enough – breathing in and out – feeling thankful to be alive come what may.
And as soon as you’ve retrieved that perspective, it’s time to get back on the road, feeling refreshed, renewed and ready to roll.
Wish: you roll with utmost calm, dexterity, smoothness and aplomb from one miracle to the next now and through the weekend.

Hips are unsung heroes. They fulfill a crucial role yet save for when you strain or dislodge them from their moorings thus causing them to give you pain, do you even acknowledge their presence. However think how it would be without them there. The gap in your structure produced by their absence would see your upper parts swiftly fall on the floor for a start.
Furthermore your hip region is, energetically speaking, the repository of animal power in your body. The more in touch you are with your hips and the more relaxed you are down there, the more animal power you have at your disposal. Animal power is essential as a balance to your intellectual power. When your attention is too much on what’s going on in your head, it is necessarily not enough on what’s going on in your hips and the less attention you have in your hips the less animal power you have, which leads you to having too much intellectual power, which in turn causes you to be living conceptually rather than existing in the here and now enjoying the fruits of being alive.
Take a moment to speak to your hips. Thank them kindly for all they do for you. Invite them to relax a little more. Say, ‘Hips relax a little more now’, visualize them 5 feet wide and feel them broaden and relax, tracing the ensuing warmth as it flows all around them and slowly starts rising up your spine to energize your belly and all the rest of you.
Then say hip-hip hooray, which odd expression presumably originated in the ancients’ general veneration of the hip and as the day goes on, you’ll enjoy the sensation of being more connected to the true power of existence.
Wish: you feel more connected to the power of existence by the hour.
The more balanced and strong your stomach energy, the more efficiently and swiftly you process information and the more efficiently and swiftly you process information, the more effectively you make decisions and the more effectively you do that, the more smoothly you wend your way through the video game of daily life.
Scattered in thought, emotion and energy you are weak. Unified in all three you are all but unstoppable. The ancient Taoists devised a neat and effective method for instantly engendering inner and outer unity of being and it’s so simple it’s almost laughable. But it’s not easy, dear Member,
When I was a small kid way back in the early 60s, I changed schools at 8 from the sweet little local one to a far fiercer all-boys boarding school up in the Chiltern Hills and found myself with a whole new crew of schoolmates. Ambling about in the playground the first morning introducing myself to the other kids, I was surprised to discover them all wanting to know whether I was a mod or rocker. I found this amusing, seeing as clearly none of us were anywhere near old enough to be considered anything more than wee lads with funny haircuts, short trousers and red blazers. This was the first time I remember encountering the human race’s somewhat bizarre, potentially psychotic need to belong to this group or that, if even just in the imaginary sense.
I remember wondering why we couldn’t just be people and proud to be part of the human race. Naturally now I understand it to be throwback to when we moved in clans and anyone outside our clan was perceived as a threat and that though we’ve now evolved beyond that stage, our hardwiring hasn’t quite caught up yet, hence identification with football teams, fashion brands, car brands, class, culture, social in-groups, nations, ideologies, -isms and so on.
With powerful shifts occurring in our midst, its time we each finally start appreciating we are all in the same boat, all traveling on the same planet, all beset by the same set of existential questions and are hence, must begin to alter the wiring within to accommodate this. And not a moment too soon, for by being willing to pull together as a global team now, we might stand a chance of overcoming the burgeoning multi-level survival crisis we face.
And though we’re talking about a global scale collective enterprise, each of us as individuals has the power and must accept responsibility for initially triggering the requisite transformation within.
Every time you discipline yourself to see past differences and divisions to the Buddha-like angelic nature within each person or group of people you encounter, every time you look beyond surface appearances and attune your vision to the underlying background presence informing all of us, every time you focus on the factors which connect us all rather than the ones that separate us, you are helping undo the power of the outworn clan versus clan, us versus them paradigm and instead lending force to the emerging we-are-all-one paradigm.
But before you can do so, you must first know yourself as a unified being, instructions for which are to be found in today’s Members’ Wisdom Drop (for which you'll need to be or become a member of the Inner Circle, and it's worth it).
Meanwhile, I wish you a sense of oneness with the whole world today, that elicits such a feeling of safety and wellness you feel as if no challenge is too big to handle.
The very idea is a blatant example of the either-or model undlying the old paradigm now in the painful process of crumbling to make way for the new paradigm, which is based on a both-this-and-that model. One doesn't preclude the other, just as good doesn't preclude bad, or yang preclude yin.
There’s no reason in the world you can’t manifest something entirely different if you want to. Of course your rational mind can come up with a thousand reasons why you can’t or shouldn’t manifest a totally different reality but deep within at your unchanging core, your spirit, that aspect of you that bears witness to your life unfolding yet is unaffected by the throes of the everyday drama in your head, knows that it’s true.
All you have to do is tell your Tao, your given path, ‘Tao, manifest something entirely different and way, way better for me now,” and it will.
This obviously requires a degree of courage of being willing to risk everything in order for everything to change and a willingness to let go and trust in the benign nature of your given path to manifest itself as something that will please you without knowing what that is.
But I for one, can attest to its efficacy and have never been let down. It’s a pot luck approach to manifesting your destiny, one without agenda, other than to manifest your highest good and the highest good of everyone involved with you (which eventually includes the whole human race).
Try it for yourself. Take a moment to stop and step out of the drama of Mondays long enough to speak to your Tao as above and within no time at all, you’ll find your life undergoing radical transformation for the better.
This is wu wei (the ancient Taoist art of manifesting) at its purest and cleanest.
May you manifest something so entirely different and magnificent in every way, you hardly recognize your life now.
I’ve been doing a lot of weirdly accurate divining the past few days, having been presented with many situations requiring deep insight and the apparent need to make relatively big decisions quickly – using a combination of a crystal pendulum, a deck of tarot cards and the I Ching – and my divining hand is in, so this one I’m about to do on behalf of you and everyone on the site should be pertinent.
And the voice from the clouds did boom out across the waters and said, “There is nothing between heaven and earth that isn't yours to make a mess of”. And the people were confused but somehow felt important for hearing it. And they did set about making a mess in every way they could. And they
