The urban drizzle falling gently, insistingly, apocalyptically and intermittently feels like a friend for some reason, someone I’m happy to show my face to, as if meeting with a thousand angels at one glance, each one dancing on the tiny droplets descending past my line of vision, jumping from one to another as they fall to the ground to maintain altitude at eye level where I can see them, or imagine I can see them, each one whispering by way of contribution to a semi-silent chorus of it’s alright, it’s alright, presumably in a bid to counteract the rising subliminal tension I’m perceiving in the air, possibly as a result, I muse, of the growing awareness that our species is currently officially consuming 25% more natural resources annually than we are able to replace.

When your mind is focused on a single intention, it becomes all-powerful.
When your body is organised around a single point (your navel) and you make all movement from there, you become unstoppable.
When your soul, your higher self, your immortal spirit, is at rest within both your mind and your body, there is nothing that could prevent your full flowering as an individual. You are literally un-dividable – you are whole, hence healed.
Healing occurs in a moment – a moment of wholeness.
By subtly altering the way you’re breathing and using your mind, you are able to enter a moment of wholeness.
Entering a moment of wholeness, the Tao, the Great Current, lifts you up and carries you and so doing, causes all aspects of your life fall into place with the same magnitude of power it uses to make the planets turn in space.
Stress, fear and trauma lodge as memories in the muscle and soft tissue of your body, in time forming holding patterns, which hinder and block the flow of chi, the energy within. This causes constriction, malfunction and eventually disease in the vital organs, which goes on to affect all aspects of your life, from the mental, all the way to the financial, because the outer reflects the inner and vice versa.
Unblock the flow and the Tao makes everything work properly again – it makes it go – and all aspects of your life right themselves of themselves over time.
And fundamentally, all that’s required is entering with the fullness of yourself into a moment of wholeness.
The moment of wholeness occurs outside of linear time.
Once you enter it, you find yourself in the eternal now, where miracles, quantum leaps of healing, happen by the power of the Tao, which allow you to go within your mind and body to the places of pain and release it so the chi, the life force can flow again, that a healing might occur, not just for you but collectively throughout the collective psyche and the synergy that produces will exponentially increase the healing effect for everyone over time.
To enter a moment of wholeness now, relax all your muscles and sinews. Lengthen your spine, broaden your shoulders and hips and breathe deeply, slowly and mindfully. Allow all the weight of your head and upper body to sink beneath the level of your navel. Draw the point from which you’re bearing witness to all this backwards from your prefrontal lobes into the pineal glad (third eye) in the centre of your brain instead and gaze out from there as if your eyes were merely two portholes out onto the world.
Be aware that your skin is less of a separation from the outside world than you imagine and in fact when magnified has more spaces than solid bits. Allow yourself to feel connected to rather than separated from the rest of the universe.
Remain like this with no other thought, than ‘I choose wholeness,’ for the length of nine breaths in and out.
Repeat daily as the effects are cumulative and it takes time to train the mind in silence to be perceptive to what’s actually going on as opposed to what it thinks is going on.
Within a few days of daily practice, even say by the end of the weekend, you will notice an increase of integrity, as in feeling more joined up, more unified and more powerful and hence confident with every step you take.
It’s subtle yet nonetheless profoundly potent for that.
Expect the quantum leap any time now.
And have a beautiful time till Monday (and thereafter).
Cascades, rapids and fallen trees threatened to bar my way as I drove the ridge of the holy hills of North London but I ploughed on through as the night sky lit up like a million flashlights and the thunder cracked like eight hundred and ninety thousand whips, thinking how seeing storms like this as a child I would just see a storm and now I see global warming – it’s all in the mind.
There’s a guy from China who walked round the whole UK carrying a rock the size of a watermelon as a piece of performance art.
Perfect metaphor for the way we carry chunks of our own past around in our heads like psychic dead weights, perhaps as a ballast, lest we grow too light-hearted and our feet leave the ground for the pure joy of being alive, as if that would be such a terrible thing.
But imagine saying sod it and dropping that rock now.
Imagine suddenly feeling that much lighter, freer and able to move around.
Imagine if right now, your entire cosmology was based on the thrill of not knowing what comes next and of not trying to work it out based on what’s happened before, being possessed of the common sense that develops with life-experience, yet not hampered by the fears that have developed in response to life along the way.
Imagine feeling fear as a raw primal emotion simply because that’s what we feel as part of being human but no longer attaching it to various imagined negative outcomes.
Imagine being innocent of such machinations and as a result bold enough to stride on with an open heart and open mind, trusting in the innate benevolence of the path, now free of the useless burden of that rock.
Visualise yourself now, having carried that rock around your whole life, having arrived at the shore on the very edge of reality as you know it, turning to face the sea, lifting that rock high above your head in both hands and hurling it with all your might into the oncoming waves. Visualise the sound of that splash as it smashes through the water’s surface. Visualise the feeling of lightness overtaking your body, mind and soul.
Visualise yourself turning round and gazing out at your entire life from here like a tableau spread out before you. Infuse the scene with brilliant white-gold-rose tinted light till every detail glows warm and clear. Imbue this light with the power to cause perfect harmony in all developments henceforth.
Visualise yourself in the midst of that scene enjoying the warmth and brightness of this healing light, feeling reassured and comforted, fortified and encouraged to enter the mystery as it unfolds from here, with total boldness and unity of spirit.
Then say, it will be so.
And it will be so.
With love, BD
Chance favours the prepared mind, said Louis Pasteur – this struck me on my way over to Raja Ram, who was in town on the weekend, as it’s one of his favourite expressions, being the arch improviser, consummate showman and master-in-general of the material plane lived from a spiritual perspective and having just emerged from a lengthy practice session for the Electronic Therapy session (with John Parkin in Brighton next weekend - click here for discounted tickets) myself, wherein I was preparing my mind for the chance of spontaneous improvisation, as is my wont, with some gusto as it happens, after an in depth training session in the sunshine before the rain doing tai chi, hsing i, pa kua and white crane till I felt I was actually floating somewhat above the ground. It’s important to practice your disciplines in earnest – it sets you free in some way.
We’re into a phase now where the old ways no longer work. Anything associated with the previous paradigm is now falling away fast though it may look slow from local perspective. In the blink of an eye our whole reality will be transformed. This is inevitable not only because of external factors such as climate change, terrorism/counter-terrorism or any of the other conundrums currently threatening our life-support system but even more crucially because the group psyche has been undergoing a radical shift ever since the psychadelic 60s and even before if you count such old-timers as Blavatsky, Freud, Jung, Reich or Krishnamurti for instance.
And now with the rapid infiltration of the mainstream by esoteric knowledge from the East and from all ancient cultures, the shift is gaining exponential momentum. Of course, with this burgeoning light, comes its opposite, burgeoning darkness: with expansion, always comes a counter, contractive force. This yin-yang dynamic occurs not only in society as a whole but in us as individuals. You could say it all starts within and is reflected back at you in the external world. You could say the external world presents you with a set of conditions to which you are obliged to respond by undergoing radical transformation of your person. The Taoist view is that it’s a web without a weaver – the chicken and egg happen simultaneously.
However because you have extremely limited control on externals, the only viable area of focus in terms of steering the transformative process lies within.
And the significance of this to you?
That you are an intrinsic part of an ineffably huge transformative process going on, which is as much to do with the evolution of human consciousness as it is the physical evolution of the planet and that the two are inextricably linked, for instance in the way that through our evolving consciousness producing such items as cars and factories, we have actually managed to have a profound effect on the weather and ultimately, as a result probably even on the shape of the world’s coastlines, which may all seem a bit negative but is evidently how the story’s been written and hence meant to be – there can be no creation of the new without first having destruction of the old, otherwise there simply wouldn’t be enough room in the universe – and that as an intrinsic part of that, you have a power and responsibility for what you’re contributing to the mix today.
What the new will look like – whether it will look like a colony on Mars or a reformed map of Earth, or a little or lot of both, none of us knows, as we haven’t finished manifesting it yet.
What we do know though, is that the more we learn to cooperate with each other, rather than impede each other, the easier time we’ll have of it.
The more we learn to relax and stop reacting with envy, hatred or fear, the faster we’ll progress in terms of finding ingenious ways round the challenges facing us as a species.
Because of the yin-yang dynamic, there will always be those hell-bent on messing things up. It’s our duty as people aligned to the evolutionary thrust, to be ever stronger in our mission to spread wisdom, tolerance, non-judgmental attitudes, compassion, calm, optimism and above all love in the face of that.
In other words the kinder you can be to both yourself and those around you, whether you know them or not, the more of a pleasant reality you’ll create and enjoy, not just for you but for everyone.
And the quickest way into this realm is through relaxation.
Meaning, in the midst of whatever you’re doing, to keep your muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue as loose as a long-legged goose. Nothing is gained by tensing, even in the midst of the most strenuous action – to the contrary.
And the quickest way into this state is through your breathing – stop holding your breath and let it flow freely, smoothly, silently, softly, evenly, deeply and slowly.
Release any perceived tension on the exhalation. Draw in the quality of peace on the inhalation.
Then say three times, slowly, rhythmically, in a clear, calm, resonant voice, ‘I choose to feel peace in my heart and my soul, I choose to feel peace in my heart and my soul, I choose to feel peace in my heart and my soul, I choose to feel calm in my body – yeah, yeah - I choose to feel calm in my body.’
And if you really want to do something that will make this come alive in full musical sensaround style and you’re in Brighton on Saturday evening, you could do a lot worse than to come to the Electronic Therapy conscious clubbing event with me and John Parkin at the Basement in North Lanes - click here and book a discounted ticket or two now.
And talking of show, it must go on and so must we – the important thing to remember, as we do (go on), is that the process unfolds exponentially rather than incrementally, miraculously rather than mechanically.
Expect miracles today.
If you were sitting in your living room and someone errantly drove one of the new breed of super-sports cars through it at 200 miles per hour, it would, no doubt give rise to quite a stir - even more so if someone lost control and flew a supersonic plane through it at a 1,000 miles per hour.
You probably feel as if you’re working your socks off trying to get things done and make something of yourself and your life, while there’s still time and finding things mostly not living up to expectations, however much magical manifesting you’re doing, which may be causing you to feel despondent or even dismayed at times.
However by reframing the situation now and training yourself to seek fulfilment from each and every moment by attuning yourself to the miracle of existence, rather than allowing yourself to be numbed by the everyday into forgetting that being here is miraculous, no matter what you achieve or don’t achieve, you instantly realign yourself to the creative force informing the entire show and so doing, will impregnate your process of manifesting success with new vigour.
See the miracle in each and every detail of whatever happens today and let it inspire you – literally fill you with spirit, for it is the spirit within which manifests things, rather than the externally referenced local self.
Remain mindful of your greater goals but stay focused on enjoying the process of attaining them. There really is no destination – only process. The process is the destination. Learn to love the process and the destination arrives of itself without you moving anywhere. However as soon as it does, you’ll instantly see it’s an illusion – you haven’t arrived anywhere because you’ve never left where you were in the first place: the all-embracing Tao. All you’ll find, wherever you wind up, is more process.
Fight it no longer. Eschew goal-induced stress now and seek satisfaction from the process instead, a viable method for amplifying the effectiveness of which is detailed in today’s Members' Wisdom Drop, for which you’ll need to be or become a member and it’s worth it.
Meantime, may you enjoy each and every minute detail of the miracle of existence today and tonight so much, it’s all you can do to contain yourself running headlong to the highest natural or human-made point in your district and shouting, ‘Barefoot is a brick,’ for all the world to hear.
There's a new batch of Precious Essence available in good time for Christmas. This is the all-natural pure version of the fragrance behind the highly successful Barefoot Doctor range in Boots a few years ago - made from the very finest, rarest, purest oils - a warm, sexy resinous base, amber and patchouli middles and subtle citric and floral tops, this accord is dangerously sexy and spiritual at the same time - so wear with care, as you'll attract attention from all directions. At a deeper, more serious level, I created the blend years ago to elicit healing re-balancing of the three main inner 'psychic chambers' to increase power in the belly, love in the heart, and consciousness in the mid-brain. WARNING: can be highly addictive - use sparingly.
